Process Efficiency: Author Once, Re-Use Forever

Drag-drop text blocks, photos and diagrams; reorder with a click; save as a reusable template. Full-text search and tag filters mean your crew finds “RT pipe weld, 8 inch, 45°” in seconds.

  • Auto Technique Numbering & Versioning. Each new technique is automatically assigned a unique ID with version tracking built in. Users can update steps, diagrams, or wording without overwriting the original—ensuring traceability and audit confidence.
  • Bulk Image Upload & Annotation. Add multiple images in one drag-and-drop action, then annotate them directly in-browser. Highlight weld locations, defect zones, or test areas with arrows, labels, and markup tools—ideal for procedures or training.
  • Clone & Branch for Similar Jobs. Need to create a slight variation? Clone a technique and branch it for a specific job, client, or equipment setup—without affecting the master version. Save time and maintain consistency across job types.
  • PDF Export with One Button. Generate a polished, printable procedure PDF in one click—complete with media, version ID, and metadata. Use for field crews, client submission, or internal documentation with zero formatting overhead.

Quality Assurance: Level 3 Control & Sign-Off

Only Level 3s (or assigned managers) can approve a technique sheet; every change is logged and versioned. Auditors see exactly which revision was in force on any given job.

  • Role-Based Edit vs. View Permissions. Control who can edit, view, or comment on techniques based on their user role. Level 3s and QA leads have exclusive editing and approval rights, while technicians and subcontractors see only what’s relevant—reducing the risk of accidental changes or misuse.
  • Digital Signature & Immutable Log. Every approval action is sealed with a digital signature and stored in an uneditable log. Timestamped entries link to the approver’s credentials, ensuring full accountability and regulatory compliance for ISO, API, or client audits.
  • Approval Workflow with Email Notices. Once edits are made, AgileNDT notifies the appropriate Level 3 for review. Approvals are confirmed via email or in-app, and stakeholders are automatically notified once a technique is cleared for use—keeping the process tight and traceable.
  • Retire / Supersede Old Versions. Older revisions are archived automatically when a new version is approved. The system clearly marks which version was active at the time of each job, eliminating confusion and supporting version-based auditing across large inspection programs.

Seamless Link to Work Requests & Reports

Pick a technique in the Work Request, and AgileNDT auto-fills method, parameters and images into the report. Technicians follow the exact procedure—no shortcuts, no guesswork.

  • Technique Picker on Job Ticket. Select a validated technique directly within the Work Request form—ensuring the correct method, configuration, and procedural steps are applied every time. This reduces variation, guarantees compliance, and accelerates field technician onboarding.
  • Embed Step Images in Final PDF. Reference images, diagrams, and setup photos from the procedure are embedded directly into the inspection report PDF. Clients and auditors can verify that field execution followed the approved technique—strengthening your documentation trail.
  • REST API / Webhook for LMS. Connect AgileNDT to your Learning Management System (LMS) or internal training databases. Automatically pull required training records or push technique selections into technician qualification profiles to support a closed-loop competency framework.
  • QR Code Link on Report for Field Reference. Each report includes an optional QR code that links back to the live technique sheet. Field inspectors, supervisors, or clients can scan and instantly access the exact steps and parameters—ensuring real-time guidance without flipping through binders or PDFs.

Compliance & Revision Alerts

Stay ahead of code changes and client specs. AgileNDT keeps your procedures current and your team informed—reducing compliance risk and audit prep time.

  • Email Alerts for Review Due Dates. Assign revision cycles to each technique sheet and automatically notify responsible Level 3s or QA leads when a review is due. Whether it’s every 6 months or tied to a standard change, your procedures stay up-to-date without slipping through the cracks.
  • ISO / API Audit-Ready Logs. Every revision, approval, and distribution event is logged with a timestamp and user ID. Demonstrate conformance with ISO 17020, ISO 9712, API 5L, or client-specific QA frameworks with a complete digital audit trail—no paper binders required.
  • Downloadable Change-History PDF. Instantly generate a PDF summary showing the full version history of any technique, including what changed, when, and who approved it. Ideal for client reviews, internal audits, or regulatory submissions.
  • Client Approval via Portal (optional). For client-specified procedures, invite external QA representatives to review and approve changes securely through the AgileNDT portal. All actions are logged, and approval status is linked to the active technique version—streamlining collaboration and reducing back-and-forth.

How the Technique Module Works

Step-by-step illustration of drafting, approving and using a technique sheet
  • Draft & Build Level 3 users create custom technique sheets by dragging step blocks, uploading images, and defining key inspection parameters. Each sheet can include tolerances, acceptance criteria, and client-specific instructions—all saved with a unique identifier. This flexible editor supports a wide range of NDT methods (UT, RT, MT, PT, VT) and components.
  • Approve & Lock Once finalized, the technique is digitally signed by a designated Level 3 or QA lead. AgileNDT logs the version number and generates a tamper-evident hash stored in the audit ledger, ensuring traceability and authenticity for regulatory and customer audits.
  • Assign to Job The approved technique is linked to a Work Request. When the job is issued, step-by-step instructions and parameters automatically populate in the technician’s field app, ensuring consistent execution, even across different teams, sites, or vendors.
  • Revise & Notify When a revision is made—due to spec changes or client updates—a new version is created. AgileNDT sends instant email alerts to all relevant stakeholders, such as Level 2s or subcontractors. The previous version is automatically archived and remains accessible for audit purposes, preserving a full history of changes.
